Hey Guys...

have a problem with the Rs232 comms with my 2EO unit

Using a USB to Serial converter, Prolicic chip set, tested and working fine on a number of different applications, such as Megasquirt.

However when connected to the unit with the PC, after approx 10 - 20 seconds or a 'blip' of the throttle, causing a quick change in EGO or RPM causes the comms to drop out. it looks like this event causes the comm port to become lost...? the com port is still in the hardware manager and functioning correctly so it says, however nothing will recognise the com port still exists (eg WBLOG or WBConfig)

Unplug the USB and reconnect, then plug back intot he back of the 2EO and away it goes for anouther 10-20seconds.

Im starting to look at the 2EO unit for the fault, have isolated the power supply from the car to enure no power faults and have unplugged the rpm input to decrease the comms load and still nothing.

Now have pulled the whole unit out and tested on the bench, using a lighter to imatate changes in EGO reading, and no rpm input and seemed to work for 5 mins no problems, updated the firmware from XX49 to XX89 while i was there. reinstalled and same problem straight away.

Any suggestions would be great before i start lookin into the RS232 chip

Thanks

Jas...
