I have just finished an green LD02 and 2Y1, the 2y1 seems to be working great, but the LD02 is just bit showng any signs of life.
With power to the unit the voltage between pins 1 and 20 of U2 is 5.0V on pin 20
Anything else I can check?

Hi.
Probably you shorted the "boot" jumper? It has to be left open for normal operation.
Can you stablish a communication between your PC and the display with wbutil?
Also double-check for shorts and cold solders. And verify that all ICs are out into the right plaße, the right way round and on the right side of the PCB.
I build up several 2LD Displays so far without problems. One time an error occured: Probably by a short peak of my psu the content of the µC's Flash/EEPROM got damaged. I had to re-flash the firmware and it works fine, now. Luky me, the bootloader didn't get damaged.

No problem
Hook up the LD02 to your computer, start the wbutil.exe and launch the "emulator". Then you should see some functions of the display. If it is so, check on the controller side: Did you set the additional grounding point of the HIN202? (have a look at the "errata").
Also have a look at the Rx/Tx wires, are they mixed up?
If everything seems fine, start the controller without the sensor being connected to it. If the display is working, you have a noise issue with the serial connection.
Many user complain about a sporadic "nd" issue with the display. It has turned out, that the "HIN202" logic level converter is not as reliable as it should be. If you get sporadic "nd", just swap the HIN202 with a MAX202 and everything should work fine.
If any questions, feel free to ask

Thanks Thomas!
Indeed the emulator proved that the display was working as it should
And your suggestion o check the grounding point of the HIN202 proved to be correct as well and the display now works as well. Thanks again, great support!
